Environmental Policy

Spinney Park from OfficeThe Spinney and Island View Caravan Parks, and the Seashore Grill (located on-site), are caravan parks and a bar and restaurant respectively. The Parks have in total 179 static caravans and are privately owned ensuring that the same people revisit the site on a regular basis. These companies are located in Swanbridge, near Sully, Vale of Glamorgan.

The companies recognise the need for a practical and workable environmental management system that will minimise environmental degradation and make the companies economically more efficient. They recognise the impacts that they impose upon the environment and have acted in a positive manner when building the office and Seashore Grill in 2003 by considering coastal aesthetic issues to ensure that the buildings do not blemish the seascape. However, the negative impacts upon the environment include current waste management procedures, storage practices, energy and water management, compliance with environmental regulations and environmental awareness issues. For these to be addressed the following will be achieved:

  • Compliance with all relevant legal requirements, codes of practice and environmental regulations
  • Appropriate storage of all raw materials on-site, particularly hazardous materials, thus preventing pollution
  • Reducing waste that is sent to landfill, endeavouring to minimise, reuse and recycle wastes and to dispose of special waste accordingly
  • Increasing on-site energy and water efficiency by implementing workable solutions
  • Raising awareness of environmental issues of employees and caravan owners alike and ensure that the Environmental Management System is continued
  • Regular management review of the content and implementation of the environmental policy with the objective of a continuous improvement in performance.

Spinney Sea ViewThese companies are committed to the environmental policy, to environmental protection and improved performance. The objectives set out in this policy cannot be met effectively without the full cooperation of our staff and caravan owners. This commitment is highlighted by the implementation of the Green Dragon Environmental Standard Level 1.

This policy will be made available to all interested parties and the general public on request. The policy will be annually reviewed to ensure compliance and to ensure progress
